Alkaline Foods Cookbook
http://www.alkalinefoodsllc.com/
This is a video book of some pictures from the Alkaline Foods Cookbook by Keith Exum, MH. Some of these dishes can be prepared easily and quick. Alkaline foods are the best foods on earth and the best foods for optimal health.
What is alkaline?
Alkaline is the English synonym for basic, since Bronsted Lowry acid – base theory of 1923 the term alkali in chemistry was restricted to those salts containing alkali earth metal elements especially for soluble bases. Alkalis are known to have pH (potential of hydrogen) greater than 7 that dissolve in water such as bicarbonate. Alkali comes from the Arabic al-qalyan meaning base, this term was often used with pharmaceuticals by the Moors (Aboriginal Africans) who early occupation of the Iberien Peninsula, around 711A.D. by the Great General Tariq ibn Ziyad who lead a troop of 6,700 aboriginal Africans and 300 Arabs crossed the straits and disembarked near a rock promontory which from that day since has borne his name from the Arabic Djabal Tariq which means the mountain of Tariq or Gibraltar.
Alkalinity measures the ability of a solution to neutralize acids. Dr. A. Szent-Gyorgy stated, “The body is alkaline by design but acidic by function”.
Should we eat some acid foods for Balance?
No, thru our research we know that our body must maintain alkalinity to survive. We have to remember that balance is neutral, neither alkaline nor acid. Our blood ph level is about 7.4 and the cellular fluid level is about 7.2. In spite of the fact that our cells produce acidic wastes constantly, our body fluids must maintain an alkaline pH level to survive. Our food and water must be alkaline; its the only way to neutralize the acid our bodies produce.
Our bodies work very hard to dispose of acidic waste, eating acidic foods makes it harder and compound the acid making it even harder for our bodies to eliminate waste. Our bodies produce lactic acid and carbon dioxide through movement, this makes the blood acidic. Eating acid foods containing phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid causes oxidation in the body.
They are removed through urine, perspiration, respiration and defecation. All of these have a low pH level except bile. When the bile becomes acidic it can cause colon and rectal cancers. Also when we exhale, releasing carbon dioxide, we are ridding the body of carbonic acid, which also causes acidic waste. With all its effort our body gives toward the removal of acid waste, we still make more waste than our body can get rid of. When we retain acids in our tissues and organs we begin to spoil and die. With proper elimination of these acids from our blood, organs and tissue we can live a long and healthy life.
If it takes 20 parts alkalinity to neutralize 1 part acid and we eat 80% alkaline and 20% acid foods for balance, your diet would be acid. 80% alkalinity isnt enough to neutralize 20% acid.
Let do the math.
So this means we need to take 20% from our 80% alkaline foods to neutralize 1% acid foods. Now we only have 60% alkaline and 19% acid left. Now we take 20% from our 60% alkaline foods to neutralize 1% of our 19% acid foods, now we have 40% alkaline Foods and 18% acid foods left. Now take another 20% from our 40% alkaline foods to neutralize 1% more from our 18% acid foods, now we have 20% alkaline foods and 17% acid foods to neutralize. Lets keep going, now we need to use the last 20% alkaline foods to neutralize 1% of the 17% acid foods, now we have 0 alkaline foods left and 16% acid foods left to be metabolized by our bodies creating acid with nothing to neutralize it, leaving us with a complete acid diet and environment..
Our diet must be 100% Alkaline; this is the only true way to health and longevity. Our body will create acid by metabolizing our foods, and this will create metabolized waste in the body. The only way that we can help rid our bodies of this acid waste is by putting bicarbonate in the blood, and the best way of getting bicarbonate in the blood is eating and drinking alkaline foods and water.

pH of Water
Starring my neighbors Alex and Brianna. . .
Filtered water is run through a PUR faucet filter.
Dr. Young’s web site : http://www.phmiracleliving.com/
It looks like he offers faucet filters that up pH. I’m thinking of trying one and adding sodium bicarbonate in the mean time.

When healthy, the pH of blood is 7.4, the pH of spinal fluid is 7.4, and the pH of saliva is 7.4. Thus the pH of saliva parallels the extra cellular fluid…pH test of saliva represents the most consistent and most definitive physical sign of the ionic calcium deficiency syndrome…The pH of the non-deficient and healthy person is in the 7.5 (dark blue) to 7.1 (blue) slightly alkaline range. The range from 6.5 (blue-green) which is weakly acidic to 4.5 (light yellow) which is strongly acidic represents states from mildly deficient to strongly deficient, respectively. Most children are dark blue, a pH of 7.5. Over half of adults are green-yellow, a pH of 6.5 or lower, reflecting the calcium deficiency of aging and lifestyle defects. Cancer patients are usually a bright yellow, a pH of 4.5, especially when terminal.” The Calcium Factor: The Scientific Secret of Health and Youth, by Robert R. Barefoot and Carl J. Reich, M.D., Gilliland Printing Inc., Arkansas City, Kansas, 1996.

To be too acidic in the body can have far reaching consequences. For example, if the blood becomes too acidic the body will balance the pH at all costs. This can lead to common symptoms which include but are not limited to heart burn, acid reflux, indigestion, weight gain, difficulty losing weight, poor metabolism, mineral deficiencies, constipation, fatigue, brain fog, frequent urination, hormonal imbalances, sore muscles and the list goes on.
Similar problems may occur if we become too alkaline, though this is much less likely. Obviously, maintaining the proper pH in the blood, digestive tract, tissues and fluids is essential in supporting optimal health.

In order for the body to maintain optimal health, it needs to manage a very narrow pH range (slightly alkaline) – especially in the blood. In fact, the body will go to almost any length necessary to maintain your blood ph at 7.34 — 7.45 because anything outside that pH range could result in death.
The process of restoring pH balance in your body always includes proper diet and nutrition. This means eating alkalizing foods (vegetables, low sugar fruits, etc.) and getting proper nutritional supplementation. However, the foundation of healthy pH balance is in drinking plenty of alkaline water. And the easiest way to “supercharge” the alkalinity of your water is by using Xooma.
